What Does a Dog Walker Mean to You?

If you currently use a dog walker, then you should really have a strong opinion about what having a dog walking service means to you. If you are not using a professional service, or even a friend, neighbor, etc. to walk your dog, you still may have thought about it. Or, maybe you didn’t even know such a service exists.

Who uses a dog walking service after all? Some of our dogwalking clients are working during the day, and their dog needs to get out of the house to do their business in the middle of the day. We walk these client’s dog with the priority that they relieve themselves and eliminate. This way our client is assured that there will be no doggy accidents to come home to in the house. The second priority then becomes the exercise, mental stimulation, and just plain fun getting out for a much needed dog walk.

Other clients of ours place the priority of exercise, mental stimulation and fun first, and potty second. These dogs have access to the outdoors during the day to do their business any time, so doing potty is not as important on the walk.

Any dog is a good candidate for a dog walk. All dogs need daily exercise, and they want someone to play with and to pay attention to them. Some dogs are really hyper and need to get rid of their excess energy. Other dogs may be a little overweight and need to exercise to trim down. And there are dogs in between too.

Our clients realize that their dogs need, and crave, this type of interaction and it helps their health and their mental stability. With the owners stuck at work all day, they want to make sure their dogs get the love and care they deserve and feel that a dog walk is just the ticket.

So what does a dogwalking service really mean to you? Please take a few moments to comment about why you do have a dog walking service, or would consider using one.

I liked the article. It made me think about using one so my dog gets the necessary stimulation and trims down. I will definately consider using Woof Pack for a dog walking service.

There are times when it is difficult to give our dog the walks he needs during the day. With a dog walker, I have the assurance that my friend will get out to enjoy the day. I also know that someone who cares is sitting and playing with him so he doesn’t get lonely. It is peace of mind when you have a dog walker/pet sitter and you can’t be there yourself.

For me, using a dog walker enables my elderly mother’s dog to get out and burn off some energy rather than channeling this energy towards negative behavior. Griffith loves Rick and Storm and becomes excited when he sees Rick’s car turn the corner. I know from this reaction that he loves his fun time walking with Rick. I also appreciate the positive behavior reinforcement that Rick provides. The dog’s manner’s have improved over the past year that Rick has been walking him.

I can’t say enough positive words regarding the dog walking service. Our dogs love to get out and walk, sniff, explore and of course potty. It’s a wonderful service that allows us to provide our doggies with exercise and stimulation.

Dog walking is a good service idea. Dogs need companionship and stimulation during a long day alone if their owners are away.

My dog walker is extemely important to us! My dog has several health issues and I rely on her judgement to give Abby the proper amount of exercise and all the affection Abby wants while I’m at work. Without Karen walking Abby, she would be climbing the walls(probably, literally) when I come home from work. This service is crucial to me as a responsible dog guardian.

As with a couple of comments left here, probably the main points are that dogs that need special care get taken care of, people are at work or just need help getting their dogs out during the long day, or that high energy dog need some way to release that energy. All these are taken care of by having a professional dog walker come in and simply walk your dog during the day.

In one sense it would be good for a homeless pesron to have companionship. But then again the dog needs to have shots, flea medication, and food. How can they pay for this? I actually would feel sorry for them both. I’ve seen how homeless people live in new york city and even where I live in Tennessee. Most of the places where they stay are very unsanitary!!!
