If you currently use a dog walker, then you should really have a strong opinion about what having a dog walking service means to you. If you are not using a professional service, or even a friend, neighbor, etc. to walk your dog, you still may have thought about it. Or, maybe you didn’t even know such a service exists.
Who uses a dog walking service after all? Some of our dogwalking clients are working during the day, and their dog needs to get out of the house to do their business in the middle of the day. We walk these client’s dog with the priority that they relieve themselves and eliminate. This way our client is assured that there will be no doggy accidents to come home to in the house. The second priority then becomes the exercise, mental stimulation, and just plain fun getting out for a much needed dog walk.
Other clients of ours place the priority of exercise, mental stimulation and fun first, and potty second. These dogs have access to the outdoors during the day to do their business any time, so doing potty is not as important on the walk.
Any dog is a good candidate for a dog walk. All dogs need daily exercise, and they want someone to play with and to pay attention to them. Some dogs are really hyper and need to get rid of their excess energy. Other dogs may be a little overweight and need to exercise to trim down. And there are dogs in between too.
Our clients realize that their dogs need, and crave, this type of interaction and it helps their health and their mental stability. With the owners stuck at work all day, they want to make sure their dogs get the love and care they deserve and feel that a dog walk is just the ticket.
